The Divine Canine offers professional house call grooming done right in the comfort of your own home. Pets can be groomed while being observed adding a feeling of security to your loved ones. (this exclusive service is only offered on Saturdays) Appointments on weekdays can be booked at Animal Hospital of The Woodlands for a salon style atmosphere. The Divine Canine also offers dog obedience training in your home. We train your pet and teach you how to train your pet so their education can continue long after we leave. Our one hour sessions are available Mon- Fri evenings. Our training methods are based on positive reinforcement as well as timed corrections.
My name is Melissa I started out in life with dreams of becoming a veternarian. I went through much of the learning process for this dream but after working as a vet tech for a while I realized that my dream had changed, I really loved the grooming and training part of the pet world, much more than working with the veterinary side of it. At the Houston SPCA I started voluntarily grooming the badly negelcted pets and found my greatest passion. While at the SPCA, I learned that so many dogs were given up due to training issues. I found a dog training coarse at Champions Boarding and Grooming and the owner personally taught me how to train dogs. I was able to transform many homeless animals to overcome their negative aspects and make them well mannered, respected and well groomed pets. Over the years I have attended pet grooming semianrs to make sure I stay up to date on all of the latest in pet grooming knowledge. In my 10 yrs experience I have also trained and groomed dogs for AKC conformation shows. My family consist of my husband and two daughters Caitlyn and Taylor and our 3 dogs, Isabella a standard poodle, Flirt a chinese crested, and Sophie a rescued Boxer.

How Does It Work? Step 1 - Call to set up for an appointment Standing apointments work best because your pet is guaranteed to always have an appointment on a specific day of each month. Step 2 - Knock knock......"I'm here to pamper Fifi" Most people that choose in house grooming prefer a laundry room, large bathroom, garage or outside patio. Step 3 - Ooooolala Your pet gets a spa quality bath with a hydro-surge bath system. This system is small and can sit right in your own bath tub. It combines warm water and supreme pet shampoo to create a seltzer effect that bubbles off the dirt while it massages your pet. Afterwards, your pet's relaxing bath leads to getting towel dried and then blow dried by hand (no cages here). Step 4 - Take a little off the top please If your pet is getting a haircut, set up only takes minutes. I finish up all the primping with a pedicure and a splash of "doggie cologne", bows or bandana, or both if your pup wants. Step 5 - Clean up You will never even know I was there.
